Idança invites authors to participate in new project
What does it mean to create performing art works nowadays? The very idea of contemporary presents challenges for its conceptualization. Key words and terminology seem to be getting more fluid and the facility in communication open possibilities for sharing news approaches all the time.
With these issues in mind, in partnership with the Prince Claus Fund, a Dutch institution dedicated to fomenting cultural activities, idança is developing a project aiming to explore and discuss different aspects of the performing arts in the contemporary. Six editions will be released throughout 2010 and will be available for download in pdf format.
The idea is to gather authors from different regions of the world and different perspectives. For that, idança will select unpublished texts sent by researchers, critics and professionals to compose the next editions.
In order to participate, the texts must fulfill the following requirements:
- have between 25 thousand and 40 thousand characters
- be written in English or Portuguese
- have issues related to the contemporary performing arts as the main subject
- be unpublished
The text must be sent until March 30th to redacao(at)idanca.net along with the author’s CV. The texts selected for publication will be paid.
