kedjaAarhus: Questioning Agendas
If you’ve been to former kedja encounter – this one is different. If you haven’t been to kedja before, you’ve probably been to other conferences on dance with talking heads` lectures and body based workshops. At kedja Aarhus we are trying out other formats – come and join our experiment!
We will meet the widely-recognized Critical Response Process by Liz Lerman Dance Exchange (USA). There will be Open Space dialogues, Collective Writing sessions, highlights on the special competences of dancers, a best case from the Dancers Career Development (UK), a zoom in on the concept of leadership, a workshop mixing professionals and local youths, choreographers and producers´ meetings - and more... Festival: Moving Agendas
As a kedja guest you will also get the opportunity to visit the Moving Agendas festival at reduced ticket prices. Moving Agendas is a brand new dance festival presenting national and international performances that push the boundaries of dance. Performances include world renowned Davis Freeman/Random Scream (USA/BE), Kitt Johnson X-act (DK), Granhøj Dans (DK) and much more... Programme will be available soon.
Please note: the festival opens with “Investment” by Davis Freeman/Random Scream on Monday 19th of September, whereas the main kejaAarhus encounter starts on the 20th. A pre-programme for Monday is being developed. Details to be posted on www.kedja.net ://wwω.kedja.net/>
What is kedja?
· kedja is recυrrent Nordic-Baltic dance encounters.
· kedja is for anyone interested in taking a closer look at how contemporary dance is organized and works in the Nordic-Baltic countries and beyond.
· kedja is for people who want to co-operate across borders to create better circumstances for the art of contemporary dance, and τhereby stimulate and develop the art of dance.
· kedja is the Old Norse and Icelandic word for chain and is highly associated with the old Nordic chain dances that are still being danced. The name kedja symbolizes our aim to connect, attach, encircle and move outwards, as well as to strengthen already existing networks.
