A new emerging dance company - Poor Man's Dance (PMD), is looking for 6 dancers to take part in an exciting project entitled POP!, which will take place in Leeds, Yorkshire. The project will take place over an intense research and development period, where the dancers and PMD's Artistic Director will work together to create an experimental and innovative short piece of dance.

The piece will then be performed at a suitable local venue within a choreographic/live arts platform entitled POP! created by PMD, the piece will then be performed in other platforms around the country.

- Dancers must have professional training or currently be in regular dance training with a good understanding of choreographic practices and performance. Dancers must have a strong choreographic interest and see themselves as creative individuals that enjoy dance work that takes risks.

- Dancers would ideally be recent graduates or emerging artists.

- Dancers would ideally be based within Yorkshire and be available during Summer 2011 for a UK tour of approximately 5 choreographic platforms.

The piece will be devised during a residency at The School of Performance & Cultural Industries, part of The University of Leeds main campus from the 4th - 29th April 2011 (excluding weekends and evenings), culminating in a UK tour during Summer 2011. (This will be followed by evaluation and filming).

The award winning 2Faced Dance Company are seeking eight creative, physical and versatile male dancers to join the company for a national tour of 3 new works created by 3 choreographers Tamsin Fitzgerald, Tom Dale and Freddie Opoku-Addaie.

The three pieces will tour nationally between July 2011 and December 2011 before being performed in July 2012 as part of 2Faced Dance Company's Dancing for the Games Project HR1, a large scale site specific project in Herefordshire as part of The Cultural Olympiad.

Candidates should possess strong technical and performance skills in one specialist style (contemporary, b-boying or ballet) as well as have had experience in some of the following: b-boying, parkour, acrobatics, ballet, contemporary, improvisation and contact work.

Contracts will range from 6 months to full time (1 year) and rehearsals will commence on Monday 28 March 2011.

Auditions will take place in Birmingham at DanceXchange on Tuesday 1 March from 11am-4pm and will be by invitation only.

Phoenix Dance Theatre will be holding open auditions in Leeds and London for contracts to start June 2011. The company is looking for high quality male and female dancers with a minimum of three years vocational training in contemporary (Graham) and classical technique and three years professional experience.

Auditions will be held in: London - Sunday 10 April

The Place, 16 Flaxman Terrace, London, WC1H 9AT - 11am

Leeds - Saturday 16 April

Phoenix Dance Theatre, Quarry Hill, Leeds, LS2 7PA - 11am
