Artistic Director
Responsibilities:
The main responsibility for the Artistic director is to develop the artistic profile of the venue. The Director will have the overall management responsibility of Dansens Hus and its staff according to strategies and budgets set by the board of directors and according to Norwegian law. The Artistic director reports directly to the board of directors.
Qualifications:
We are looking for a person with relevant experience from managing a dance venue. Broad knowledge of Norwegian and international contemporary dance is a prerequisite, and knowledge of audience development highly valued. Excellent communications skills and networking abilities is important, and experience with working in the publicly funded arts sector is an advantage.
The Artistic director holds a full time position for a period of 4 years. Remuneration and benefits on standard terms, to be negotiated separately. Please send an application by 1st of March 2010. Position to be taken up by 1st of August or as soon as possible.

Dansens Hus is the national venue for contemporary dance in Norway with a main aim to present Norwegian and international dance to a wide audience. Located in central Oslo, Dansens Hus has 2 stages presenting 25-30 productions per year including premiers, co-productions and guest performances. In addition to performances, Dansens Hus organises seminars, lectures and workshops. The organization employs 15 people, has an annual budget of 35 mill NOK and is funded by the Ministry of Culture.
