InShadow – International Festival of Video, Performance and Technologies aims to raise awareness and reflect the connection between the entity and new technologies through the intersection of language, video / film and dance / performance linked to the work of film-makers, choreographers, trans-disciplinary artists and performers.
The Festival
This is the second edition of InShadow – International Festival of Video, Dance and Technologies. It is the result of three previous editions of Dance Without Shadow International Exhibition, that was established in 2004 with the aim to present an interdisciplinary programme, in which participated more than sixty artists and companies, including directors, choreographers, performers, musicians and interpreters.
The original idea of the Festival is to create a link between body and technology, highlighting the presence of the body onto the image-screen in contemporary world.
The Festival takes place from the 7th to the 11th of December 2010, at São Luiz Municipal Theatre in Lisbon.
Regulations:
1. The deadline for applications is the 30th of April 2010, date of post. 2. The work proposed has to be original and to underline the relationship between body and sound/image in different genres: video-dance, video-performance, video-art, experimental video or dance and performance documentaries. 3. The work can be presented by any person or entity and must be sent in DVD (multizone). 4. The work cannot last more than 20 minutes. 5. Each applicant can present only 2 works per competition. 6. Along with the application form, applicants must send 2 photos of the work and 1 photo of the video director (duly identified and with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi,TIFF or JPEG format).These materials can be sent by mail (in digital format) or by email to voarte@voarte.com. 7. All works with dialogues must have subtitles in english. 8. Regarding the Award for Best Portuguese Film, we accept applications for films produced or co-produced in Portugal. 9. Application forms must be filled in the name of the representative of the work. 10. Application forms must include authorization by the author/authors for exhibition during the Festival and other extensions of the Festival. 11. Reception of the video works, as well as the results of the selection and the final results, will be confirmed by e-mail. 12. All materials sent will not be returned and they will be part of the archive of Vo’Arte. 13. The works will be shown in DVD or in another format, if necessary. 14. In addition to the established awards, the jury may award distinctions. 15. Applicants must accept all conditions and rules of the competition. 16. Any other cases will be solved by the organization of the Festival. 17. Vo’Arte Association reserves the right to modify the regulations, informing all participants of any alterations.
