Workshop for contemporary dance

Quan Bui Ngoc, dancer of the group les ballet C de la B and an experienced workshop leader, would like to offer insights into the specific themes and tasks of his company’s cross-genre works, in addition to composition exercises. The workshop, methodically oriented toward the working methods of les ballets C de la B, is meant for professional dancers, choreographers, actors, and performers.

Until 1996, Quan Bui Ngoc danced with the ballet of the Hanoi Opera. After studying contemporary dance techniques, he has been working with les ballets C de la B since 2002. He also produces his own choreographies, teaches at the conservatory in Gent and offers workshops throughout Europe.

Contemporary Dance and Sign Language

Saturday 10th April, 10.00 –16.00 h
Sunday 11th April, 10.00–14.00 h

Schwankhalle
With its clarity, rhythm and corporeality, sign language offers the starting point in improvisations and short choreographies for discovering the gestural expressiveness of this language, one’s own body and oneself in contact with others. The workshop is for persons interested in exploring dance in conjunction with sign language and for those who have a command of sign language. No previous knowledge required.

Doris Geist, deaf, is dancer and teacher of German sign language and instructs dance theatre, New Dance and improvisation to hearing and deaf persons.

Corinna Mindt, dancer, dance pedagogue and movement therapist, has been engaged for several years in combining pedagogical work and the development of plays that the audience can identify with. She is the initiator and director of tanzbar_bremen.
