Aerowaves Fall for Dance presents young choreographers from Europe

Dance Arena’s touring concept Aerowaves Fall for Dance brings interesting young choreographers from Europe to perform in Finland. The event will take place September 15−23, 2011, in Oulu, Kuopio, Tampere and Helsinki.

From the 584 applicants of last year’s Aerowaves network’s review three were chosen to tour in Finland. The lucky ones are Jared Gradinger and Angela Schubot from Berlin, Germany, Alma Söderberg from Sweden and the israeli Itamar Serussi Saharin.

Gradinger and Schubot’s work What they are instead of is based on a breathing technique that challenges the limits of the body. Söderberg is a mesmerizing performer whose solo work Cosas offers the audience a collage of sound, music and dance. The evening is completed by Itamar Serussi Saharin’s Undo which is a visually streamlined work for five dancers.

After each of the six performances there will be meetings with local dance artists and audience.

Aerowaves Fall for Dance aims at offering audiences in different parts of Finland more possibilities to see international dance works and at building a model for an international touring network. This is the second Aerowaves Fall for Dance tour.
