Full Moon Dance Festival Celebrates its 20th Anniversary

The Full Moon Dance Festival held at Pyhäjärvi July 24–28 has its 20th anniversary this year. In the summer 2011 the festival program comprises of 15 works on stage. The performances will be seen on three different stages.

Premiere works from the artistic directors of Glims & Gloms, Simo Heiskanen and Tuomo Railo, will be seen in the co-performance night. Amateurs by Heiskanen is a dance work, which is realized by using humoristic movement and theatrical mimic art. In the same night will be seen Tuomo Railo's premiere work Sore Point which deals with the competitive drive of humans.

Susanna Leinonen’s Blinded Mind is a work for six dancers. It plays with contrasts and opposites. AmazinGRace by Kirsi Saastamoinen from Kajaani deals with the everyday reality of the people from Kainuu through humour. Dance Theatre Tsuumis new improvisation project TSIP will also be seen in the program.

At the Full Moon Dance Festival dance works will also be performed in stores and in nature. There will be course offering to both professionals and beginners.
