A selection of contemporary dance is included for the first time in the program of Stage – Helsinki Theatre Festival. In the program is Quintet by Eeva Muilu, Lover of the Pianist by Elina Pirinen and Thank You for Your Love by Anna Mustonen and Masi Tiitta. The next Stage festival takes place from August 15 to 28, 2012.
The festival program contains altogether 56 performances from around the globe. This year, Stage expands its repertoire further than before: there are performances from Asia, South America and the Middle East. There is also a wide variety of approaches on how to make theatre.
This year's theme is 'Voices', referring to the multiplicity of voices heard through intimate stories. On Stage, the personal, reality-based stories are also linked to a wider social context.
Stage also offers unique theatre experiences to be seen and felt with open mind: a performance at an old customs warehouse, Jätkäsaari bunker (Land's End), a play without actors (33 rounds and a few seconds) and 3D-theatre (The art of being tamed)!
Stage is a co-operation festival of the Helsinki Festival.
