Kuopio Dance Festival program is out!
The festival will feature works by Israeli choreographers Emanuel Gat and Adi Boutrous, Norwegian Alan Lucien Øyen, and a South Korean avant-garde artist Eun-Me Ahn – among others. Kuopio Dance Festival will be held from 15 to 21 June.

Helsinki International Ballet Competition – Open call for dancers until 20 March
The ninth Helsinki International Ballet Competition will be held at the Finnish National Opera and Ballet from 30 May to 6 June 2022. The competition program consists of both classical and modern repertoire.

The Finnish National Ballet’s story began exactly a hundred years ago; Director of the Finnish National Opera Edvard Fazer had an interest in dance, and professional performers were needed for the operas’ dance scenes. The first full-length ballet to grace the stage in Helsinki was Swan Lake on 17 January 1922.
