Performing HEL showcase presents a number of circus, dance, theatre and other exciting performances by Finland-based artists and companies, in August–September 2023, in Helsinki.

The fourth edition of Performing HEL showcase takes place on August 31 – September 3, at the same time as the Helsinki Festival.

The showcase presents a full range of performing arts, including circus, dance, and theatre, also delivered in exciting yet difficult-to-define combinations. In four days almost 30 Finland-based artists and companies present their work through pitch, demo and performance programs.

By the end of the open call, the jury received 155 applications – which is the largest number of applications in Performing HEL history! The selections are made by Eva Neklyaeva (Curator), Lotta Nevalainen & Riitta Aittokallio (Circus & Dance Info Finland) and Vigdís Jakobsdóttir (Reykjavik Arts Festival).

Performing HEL showcase is a pocket-size event creating a cozy atmosphere where artists and presenters have a chance to meet up and make meaningful connections. We are expecting about 100 participants to the platform.

The full program for the 2023 Performing HEL showcase will be released in March, and the registration for presenters will start online immediately after that.

Performing HEL is organized by Circus & Dance Info Finland and Tinfo – Theatre Info Finland in collaboration with Helsinki Festival, National Theatre, The Swedish Theatre in Helsinki and Espoon kaupunginteatteri – The International Theatre of Finland.
