The tasks of the Director of Dance House are, among others things, to create the optimal operating conditions for the house, increase the visibility of dance art and to build strong relationships with cooperation partners and social operators and decision-makers.
The chosen Director is expected to have good knowledge of the cultural field, and to have proven experience in business management, especially in comprehensive specialist organisation management.
This position as the public face of a new cultural organisation that is currently being built will be challenging and, in addition to good strategic management skills, requires creativeness and strong management skills with regard to personnel and specialists.
“We are searching for an open-minded and innovative leader who recognises the cultural and social potential of dance and who can strengthen its position through Dance House’s operations,” explains Sanna Rekola, Chairperson of the Helsinki Dance House Association.
The recruitment process is being handled by a tendered recruitment company, Mercury Urval, that has experience in demanding leader recruitments also in the cultural field.
Dance House Helsinki is the first space in Finland devoted entirely to all forms of dance. Internationally, this is a unique operating concept that offers audiences the possibility to see domestic and international, versatile, high-quality dance art throughout the year. The house will open its doors at the Cable Factory, in the Ruoholahti district of Helsinki, in 2020.
Recruitment is open until 4 March, 2018.
