Pia Andell’s dance film rewarded in New York
Pia Andell’s dance film Rekonstruktio was selected as the best Nordic short film at Nordic International Film Festival, New York.
Rekonstruktio is a 15-minute short dance film, written and directed by Finnish film director, writer and producer Pia Andell.
In the story of the film two old school friends, male and female, meet to reminisce about their youth. With their adolescent memories beginning to awaken, a letter she wrote back then brings up very different recollections of a school party in a hotel in 1982.
Pia Andell has directed creative documentary films over 20 years, and during the last years she has focused on fiction films. Since 2004, she runs her own production company Of Course My Films. Andell’s films have been widely awarded home and abroad.
Nordic International Film Festival builds bridges
Based in New York City, founded by two Swedish actors and film producers in 2015, Nordic International Film Festival (NIFF) is the largest nordic film festival outside of Europe. It aims to build bridges between the Nordic region and the international film community – and connect filmmakers from all over the world.
Nordic International Film Festival is held annually at The Museum of Photography – Fotografiska New York.
