Performing HEL 2021 programme will be released in March
Performing HEL showcase presents the most interesting Finnish performing arts for international and Finnish presenters and programmers in September 2021. For this year the showcase received almost 140 applications from Finnish artists.
Performing HEL is a four-day showcase for dance, circus and theatre. It brings together artists working in Finland with directors and presenters who choose programmes for theatres and festivals worldwide.
Performing HEL 2021 is organized on September 2-5 in Helsinki, Finland in tandem with the Helsinki Festival. It presents performances that are suitable for international audiences and touring. The registration for presenters and programmers will open in March 2021 on www.performinghel.fi.
The showcase will pay attention to current COVID-19 restrictions and it offers a possibility to register to the event also as an online participant. More information about this feature will be published later.
In 2021 the showcase is organized by Dance Info Finland and CircusInfo Finland in collaboration with Helsinki Festival, the Finnish National Theatre, Svenska Teatern, Espoo City Theatre, Theatre Info Finland TINFO and Klockriketeatern.
Record number of applications from artists
Although the international field of performing arts is undergoing challenging times, Performing HEL received more applications than previous year. Altogether 139 dance, circus and theatre professionals and groups from all over the country applied for the program. The application period ended in December. The programme will be released in March.
Performing HEL 2021 is supported by the Ministry of Education and Culture of Finland.
