Projects

Domestic and international projects form a major part of Dance Info Finland’s activities. They provide multiple working possibilities for Finnish dance professionals, develop the operating conditions of Finnish dance field and also open up the world of dance for larger audiences.

 

Active Projects

Development project for mediator and international operations 2019–2020

Dance Info Finland and CircusInfo Finland have launched a two-year development project, which aims, among others, to meet the challenges of internationalization and develop new production models to Finnish performing art field.

Digital Leap – Capacity building for circus and dance professionals

Digital Leap is an international two-year project that offers dance and circus professionals learning opportunities for deepening their understanding of digital environments and their possibilities in performing arts.

Finnish-Russian Dance Exchange Programme

Dance Info Finland has suspended all institutional collaboration with Russia for the time being (March 2022).

ICE HOT Nordic Dance

ICE HOT Nordic Dance is a brand and a collaboration network that promotes Nordic contemporary dance abroad. ICE HOT Nordic Dance Platforms present the diversity of Nordic contemporary dance to hundreds of dance presenters from around the world.

Keðja & STRETCH

Keðja is a community that supports the strengthening of the Nordic-Baltic dance field and networking of dance professionals in the region. Keðja is Icelandic for "chain".

Korea-Nordic Connection

Korea–Nordic Connection is a collaboration programme started in 2017. The aim is to facilitate international exchange and collaboration between Korean and Nordic performing arts professionals.

Performing HEL

With performances, demos and production pitches, Performing HEL showcases circus, dance and theatre from Finland. Performing HEL takes place every two years in August/September – at the same time with the Helsinki Festival.

Towards new stages 2020-2021

A collaboration project between CircusInfo Finland and Dance Info Finland attempts to sustainably improve the outreach of circus and dance performances.

Past Projects

Australia-Finland dance exchange

In 2013-2015 Dance info Finland and Australia Council for the Arts coordinated a collaboration programme, in which the partners were dance field organizations from both countries.

Dancing Finland 2017

Dancing Finland 2017 is a national dance project and event which offers dance activities for everyone. The campaign is a part of the programme for the centenary of Finland’s independence in 2017. The idea behind the campaign is that dance is possible for us all.

Hong Kong x Finland

Creative Meeting Point is an artist exchange and collaboration program between Finland and Hong Kong in 2016-2019.

JPN – FIN – Contemporary Dance Residence Exchange and Co-production programme

Keðja projects in 2008-2015

The keðja projects have offered Baltic and Nordic dance artists, producers, journalists and other dance professionals opportunities to meet, exchange ideas and work across borders.

Korea-Finland Connection 2010-2012

Dance Info Finland and Korea Arts Management Service (KAMS) realized the collaboration programme Korea–Finland Connection in 2010-2012. The purpose was to develop collaboration in dance and performing arts between the two countries.

Residency collaboration in Japan

Dance Info Finland and the Finnish Institute in Japan are collaborating in opening residency opportunities for Finnish dance artists in Japan.

SZENEfrei 2017-2019

SZENEfrei was a three-year project that promoted the visibility, working and networking opportunities of Finnish independent dance, circus and performance art professionals in Germany, Austria and Switzerland 2017-2019.
