f-ART House: BODYCTRL

Contemporary dance

BODYCTRL is a piece of contemporary dance art which releases the body from the assumptions and imageries which limit it. Through BODYCTRL, the f-ART House group challenges the viewer to ask questions and recognise the imageries through which a female body is viewed in our society.

The f-ART House is an artist collaboration of six young assumed females focusing on corporality and social structures, formed in 2017. The group is a collaboration of dancers Suvi Kelloniemi, Siiri Kortelainen, Iiris Laakso, Janna Loukas, and Verna Nordlund, as well as Ellen Virman, who moves between light, sound, and music.

BODYCTRL is the second stage show by the f-ART House. The first work of the group, 10tytöt (2017), looked at being a nice, overachieving girl as a personal experience as well as a social phenomenon.
