Höglund, Kahrola, Karhulahti, Kuronen, Tapio: Bypassed – Moving Pictures of Trafficking in Human Beings

Bypassed - Moving Pictures of Trafficking in Human Beings is an artistic work where visual and dance arts, movement and still objects, human body and lifeless material - engage in a dialogue. Light and sound design complement the whole to transform it into a living exhibition.

Thematically the working group has viewed the bodily sensations of a sex trafficking victim in the works of the exhibition. The work is striving to offer the viewer a chance to identify the theme and to feel empathy. The exhibition as a whole consists of human bodies and movement, drawings, collages, textile sculpture, light and sound.

Bypassed – Moving Pictures of Trafficking in Human Beings premiered on the 4th of December 2021 at Liikelaituri, Tampere.

The exhibition is open for 2 h.
A living exhibition may be viewed as an art exhibition where the visitors can come and go freely.

Recommended age 12 years and over.

After the living exhibition the audience is welcome to join a thematic discussion in which the working group will tell about the process of making the work. Catarina Mikkonen from Elpida association will facilitate the discussion.
