Simo Kellokumpu’s #CHARP_solo is an astrochoreographic work, which examines outer spatial and planetary movements, which set conditions for choreographic to emerge. The work inhabits the relations between corporeality and materiality from immediate surroundings extending towards the interplanetary scale. How to take (a) place in a world, which is constituted by the relations of various motional agents? What kind of body emerges when examining movements which extend beyond human life-time / space?
#CHARP_solo is a version for one performer from a group work #CHARP, which was premiered in the Uniarts Helsinki’s Research Pavilion in the context of the Venice Biennale 2017. The solo version had its first performance in Kiasma as part of the Performing Arts Research Centre’s The Spring Research Day in April 2018.
