VISA – sanaton näytelmä

Syitä pakolaisuuteen on yhtä monta kuin pakenevia itsekin. Leiri on välitila menneen ja tulevan välillä, eräänlainen kiirastuli. Menneeseen ei enää ole paluuta, mutta minne täältä pääsee ja milloin? Epävarmuuden ja epätietoisuuden keskellä voi vain spekuloida, haaveilla, pelätä ja toivoa.

Mielikuvitus yhdistää ihmisiä. VISA pyrkii toteuttamaan mielikuvituksellisimmatkin näyt ja unelmat yhdistämällä nukketeatterin, musiikin, tanssin ja nykysirkuksen ilmaisukeinot yhdeksi orgaaniseksi kokonaisuudeksi. Aiheen raskaudesta huolimatta – tai kenties juuri sen vuoksi – esityksessä on toivoa ja leikkisyyttä. Varjoa ei voi olla ilman valoa.

Here, in this refugee camp away from the war, co­operation is the only way to survive the daily struggle with poverty. Here, between two worlds, the spirit wanders between nostalgia of the homeland, the fear that made one leave and the utopia of a country at peace. Where food is abundant, medical care is available, where children can go to school every day. It seems like a distant dream. But to go from here to there, you need to have a visa, money and credit card. The people here don’t have a visa! They must stay and go on living.
