Apply for Nordic Match 29.3.-3.4.2020 in Helsinki

ILMOITTAJA: NORDIC MATCH
13.2.2020

Would you like to meet up with Nordic colleagues, network, and have a great time? Do you have a passion for creating change in society? If so, apply for Nordic Match, a value-based networking platform that launched in Helsinki in 2018, driven by art and creative thinking. The platform offers Nordic creative professionals new, informal ways to network.

By bringing Nordic creative professionals together, Nordic Match aims to establish collaborative processes that are both groundbreaking and sustainable – a pop-up think tank so-to-speak, and a creative community.

Why, you ask?
Because the Nordic countries have so much to be proud of in terms of equality, creativity, human rights, prosperity, education, and sustainable thinking. Let’s tackle pressing social and global issues by building on what we have, but making sure we go even further.

Practicalities
The participants are chosen through an open call twice a year. Nordic Match will cover the participant’s travel to and from Helsinki, accommodation in an apartment together with the other participants (with a private room), and all meals throughout the four days. The participants will arrive in Helsinki 29 March, and the program will start  30 March in the morning. The travel back home will be on April 3 in the morning.

Theme
Next Nordic Match will take place in Helsinki from 29 March to 3 April. This time, the topic is “Freedom of Speech”.

Every Nordic Match also has a local partner, not as an employer but as a way to advance the ideas and solutions, and hopefully put them into practice. This spring, our partner is the Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike).

The upcoming workshop will focus on questions concerning the public space and freedom of speech. Who decides on the surroundings we live in? What is the role of art in our living premises and public spaces? What do we mean when we say public art? Do artists in the Nordic countries take freedom of speech for granted? To what extent is our freedom of speech regulated by for example the market and western values.

Apply
The application round for Nordic Match is now open – you can apply as a participant during Nordic Match from 29 March to 3 April. The application deadline is 29 February 2020.
