Call for Site Specific Choreographers – Global Water Dances
Global Water Dances, an international event happening in more than 100 locations around the world to raise awareness about water issues, is looking for choreographers to create and perform a site-specific work near a body of water on June 15th 2019, everywhere!
Where: Your own city or town
When: June 15th 2019
Deadline for applications: January 31st, 2019
On June 15, 2019, communities around the world will “dance for safe water everywhere”. The performances will highlight a local water issue and take place near a related body of water. Choreographers, dance groups, organizations, water activists and members of the community will come together and will be encouraged to take action to solve their immediate water problems.
Our worldwide event, linked throughout the day via broadcast media and the internet, will challenge countless observers, locally and online, to deepen their understanding about the importance of water in communities the world over.
If you are a choreographer or water activist interested in hosting a Global Water Dances event in your city or town, we encourage you to become a Site Leader and collaborate with other artists, scientists, and environmental activists to create your own event for Global Water Dances.
If you would like to host an event in your location, please sign up by filling out our Event Site Registration form. Deadline is January 31st 2019
