Copenhagen International Choreography Competition, application deadline 5.5.


The Copenhagen International Choreography Competition (CICC) is a platform to discover and promote emerging contemporary choreographers.

Since our founding in 2008, the CICC has been an annual event attracting talent from around the world, as well as becoming one of the most recognized choreography competitions in Europe.

When:  July 12th & 13th, 2019
Where: Copenhagen, Denmark

Deadline for applications: May 5th, 2019

Conditions of Entry

The organizers must receive applications no later than May 5th, 2019.

-All participants, including dancers and choreographers, are required to have professional experience.
-Choreographers must be under 40 years of age.
-The competition is open to solos, duets, trios, and group pieces up to six performers.
-Choreographers may perform in their own work.
-The work can be created by multiple choreographers. (All the choreographer’s information should be mentioned on the online application)
-Subject and music of all pieces are open to the choreographer. Please note that the competition is focused on contemporary works.
-The work should be between 5 and 15 minutes long.
-A link to a complete online recording of the piece you wish to present at the Choreography Competition 2019 should be included with the online application. (Rehearsal recording is acceptable. Trailer video will not be considered.)
-Submitted works must have been choreographed after July 12th, 2017.
-If you are applying with a new creation, links to one complete online recording of a recent piece by the choreographer, as well as a rehearsal recording of the piece you wish to present at the Choreography Competition 2019 should be included along with the online application. (Rehearsal excerpt recording is acceptable)
-Those involved in the event should be available for both performing days and necessary rehearsals free of charge. This includes any possible radio/TV interviews, press conferences, and TV/Internet broadcasting.
