INACT Festival: Open Call for Artists, ‘Uncloning’ (France)


Founded in Strasbourg in 2011, INACT Festival is a meeting place for performance art. This multi-disciplinary gathering will next take place 30 April – 18 May 2020, with both day and nighttime events.

The organisers invite artists from any discipline (musicians, visual artists, actors, dancers, poets, etc.) who stage and perform their work live to propose projects related to the 2020 theme: ‘Déclonisation’ (‘Uncloning’, in the sense of resisting clones/copies).

The festival’s fields of interest include: performance studies, sound art, video performance, poetry, re-enactment, improvisation, dance, culinary art, sound poetry, environmental art, cross-media, urban intervention, augmented and virtual reality, and virtual performances.

The festival dates will be 30 April – 1 May, 7-8 May, and 15-16 May 2020. Events will take place in different venues in Strasbourg, indoors and out.

Participants will recieve:

200 € production or artist fee.
Travel expenses.
Catering during the day of the performance.
Video recording of the artwork.
INACT also invites artists to propose interventions and workshops suitable for audiences who would like to practice performance art for the first time. This activity could lead to a performance or an exhibition during the festival. Workshops are paid 50 € per hour for a maximum of 6h, and have access to a 70 € materials budget.
