LECTURE: Traces of Dushmap in postmodern dance (improvisation)

Hilde Rustad will discuss postmodern dance improvisation as a tradition, and focus on how postmodern dance can be understood in relationship to the work of Marcel Duchamp (1887-1968).

Hilde Rustad is a researcher and a freelance dance artist who performs and teaches in Norway and abroad. Rustad is educated dancer and choreographer at the Amsterdam School of the Arts, School for new dance development. She is employed by The Norwegian school for sport sciences and The Norwegian college of dance in Oslo. She has written her PhD thesis on dance improvisation and contact improvisation at the Norwegian school for sport sciences, and she has a Nordic master of arts in dance studies from the Norwegian university of science and technology/NTNU. She is currently Chair of the Nordic Forum for Dance Research/NOFOD.

Koreografi Liisa Pentti juhlii tänä vuonna 30-vuotista taiteilijanuraansa ja juhlavuoden teemana on postmoderni tanssi. Esitysten, tapahtumien ja keskustelutilaisuuksien kautta luodaan katsaus tanssiin 1980-luvun virtauksiin sekä postmodernin tanssin perintöön nykyhetkessä.

Postmoderni tanssi Suomessa? vol 2 on jatkoa ensimmäiselle Postmoderni tanssi Suomessa? -tapahtumalle, joka järjestettiin Helsingin Suvilahdessa toukokuussa 2016.
