Open Call: Tendency -Contemporary Dance Festival, Russia – very short application time

Dance Company Vozdukh (meaning “Air”) is organising the second annual Tendency -contemporary dance festival in the Southern Russia, Krasnodar.

Happening between 19th – 22th of April 2018 it will consist of performances and workshops both by Russian and foreign companies. The festival will take place at the theatre platform One Theatre and company’s own dance studio Vozdukh.

Festival is searching for solos, duets, trios or ensemble works (max. 5 people). Festival will also ask some of the performers to conduct a workshop during the festival.

Conditions of participation:

– Participants will be provided with accommodation and all needed technical support
– All travel and visa costs and per diem will be covered
– Performing fee shall be negotiated separately after the decision making of the programme
– Workshop fee shall be covered

Please note that there is a very short application period: The deadline is the 22nd February 2018.

Today contemporary dance only begins the development in the south of the country. Vozdukh Dance Company is one of the brightest collectives in this genre and already known far beyond Krasnodar borders (Dance Company has been twice nominated for The Golden Mask National Theatre Award, has been invited to Aerowaves Spring Forward festival 2016, Russian Look National Dance And Theatre Platform etc.). Besides its own growth, Vozdukh actively is engaged in development of contemporary dance in the south of Russia through the organization of the Tendency Festival. Contemporary dance is a new phenomenon in the culture of Krasnodar Territory which actively attract wide audience. The Tendency Festival has been already twice held and become the noticeable event which is actively covered by media.

Dance Company Vozdukh runs its own contemporary dance studio. It has a long experience in organizing workshops, courses and classes. It also extensively collaborates with independent theatre platform One Theatre, which is located in the same building.
