Presente Futuro Festival: Call for Proposals and Competition (Italy)
The 15th edition of the international festival Presente Futuro will take place 14-16 May 2020.
Organised by Teatro Libero of Palermo, the festival includes several awards for young/emerging contemporary creation in the field of performing arts (theatre, dance, dance theatre, physical theatre, performance), with the aim of promoting the emerging European scene. It seeks to support contemporary creation through international connections, production support, and residencies, as well as by comparing different national realities.
The festival organisers are calling for artists, companies and teams coming from the EU – and preferably under 35 – to propose a performing arts project not shorter than 20 minutes to perform at the Presente Futuro festival.
The Theatre offers a fee of 200€ for each member of the selected company taking part in the festival (for a maximum of 4 members, 2 of whom must be performers).
During the festival itself a number of awards will also be made. The Presente Futuro Prize offers a grant of 2000€ and a residency at Teatro Libero Palermo, with a chance for the winning company to show the full version of their project during the 2020/2021 Season of Teatro Libero or during Presente Futuro Festival 2021. Other awards will be assigned, including international residencies offered by the festival Between The Seas (Greece) and San Materno Theatre in Ascona (Switzerland), as well as a grant of 1000€ to support artistic creation provided by the History of Art and Theatre department of La Sapienza University of Rome and a grant of 500€ supported by COBAS Scuola of Palermo.
Deadline: 31 January 2020
