A Suitcase of Methods. Getting to know the spectators, why is it important, and how do we go about it?

There is no theatre without an audience! That is one of the vital arguments for starting to take the spectators seriously and getting to know them. But, how can theatres gather this knowledge and what role should audience data play in running a creative organization? I will discuss these questions through examples of how The Royal Danish Theatre and the research project A Suitcase of Methods have worked within this field.
