Workshop in Senegal: Around technique Agogny
BLACK DANCES #3: AROUND TECHNIQUE ACOGNY July18th–August 28th2018

– Saturday morning: research and experimentation workshops

The Ecole des Sables is located near Toubab Dialaw, a fishing village 53 kilometers south of Dakar, at the foot of a lagoon between ocean and savannah. The Center has two dance studios (400 m2 and 280 m2), 24 bungalows for accommodation, a restaurant, a conference room and an infirmary.
The course is for professional dancers and advanced dancers (at least 5 years of regular and weekly dance practice). Researchers and academics, as well as professionals in other fields using dance for professional reasons (dance therapy, music therapy, singing, acting etc.) may also register under the condition of having a minimum intermediate level (at least 3 years of regular and weekly dance practice).
Technique Acogny : Ise Verstegen (Holland), Raouf Tchakondo (Togo), Aïda Colmenero Diaz (Spain) and Alesandra Seutin (Belgium/UK/ Zimbabwe).
Traditional Dances : Ida Faho (Burkina Faso), Raouf Tchakondo (Togo) and Rokhaya Thioune (Senegal)
Research workshops and theoretical approaches: Patrick Acogny, Germaine Acogny
The total workshop costs are 2160 euro, including:
-accommodation and meals in the center for 6 weeks
-Transfer from the airport to the school
-210 hours of professional dance classes.
Travel and compulsory travel insurance are the responsibility of the trainee.
