Yekaterinburg
TanzTheater has existed since 1990. Тow it is a branch of the Sverdlovsk Academic Drama Theater. The theater, which in the early nineties became a union of ballet artists who are fed up with routine provincial ballet, at first showed a program of works by George Aleksidze, Vaslav Nijinsky, Leonid Yakobson, Giedrius Matskyavichyus.
Kostroma
Initiated by Evgeny Kulagin and Ivan Estegneev, the company supports and promotes contemporary dance and contemporary art in Kostroma.
Synthesis of music, movement, light, suits, plastic expressiveness of the actors subordinated to main art idea is a major principle of existence of theatre. Theatre became famous in Russia and abroad as a unique avant-garde dance troupe. Theatre actively cooperates with foreign choreographers.

Russian Theatre Life in Brief / Rtlb.ru is an information project of Russian Theatre Union – a professional society in the sector of performing arts in Russia. Currently the project is maintained by International Department of the Union.
SDVIG perfromance art studio is a chamber space run by a group or dance artists: Anton Vdovichenko, Anya Kravchenko, Kamil Mustafaev and Masha Sheshukova. This is a place for their creations as well as a hub with regular classes, workshops, lectures, concerts with local and invited artists, which gathers people, who are interested in alternative ways to comprohend reality through conscious work with body and mind.

The chamber ballet “Panther” was formed in February, 1993. Nail Ibragimov is the head-choreographer and the artistic director of the Ballet. By combining different styles and techniques of contemporary dance he creates a variety of new dance forms. They also keep every Spring an International Dance Festival ”Telovidenie”
The Theatre Ballet Moscow is an innovative dance company, where unique artistic vision arises from a paired set of two casts – contemporary dance and ballet. St. Petersburg
The New Stage of Alexandrinsky Theatre forms part of the modern theater complex, which was designed by the well-known architect and was opened for Alexandrinsky Theatre in 2013, in place of the former workshops in the very heart of St. Petersburg, within a walking distance from the Theatre’s historical building. Main purpose of such extension of the oldest national stage in Russia was to create new, technologically advanced platform for development of the experimental, creative research directions. High-tech transformer stage, professional media center, rehearsal rooms, all these make the New Stage the most attractive venue for filmmakers, musicians, researchers of the innovative technologies in the field of contemporary theater.
Erarta is the largest private museum of contemporary art in Russia. Erarta Museum aims to discover, research, collect and popularize works of art created by talented contemporary artists of Russia. The museum collection provides an opportunity to see works of both renowned masters and inherently talented authentic artists who aren’t yet widely known but whose art is already on an outstanding level.
The Meyerhold Centre was founded in 1991 upon the initiative of the Commission on Meyerhold’s Creative Legacy and with the support of the Union of Theatre Makers of Russia and the Union of Architects of Russia. In 1999, by decision of the Moscow Government, TMC became a state-united enterprise. Today it is a centre and institute of contemporary theatre. It supports variable educational programmes, co-productions and visit-performances.
Skorohod is a multifunctional venue for theatre, music performances, contemporary dance, lectures, films and DJ sets. It proposes an alternative to a traditional repertory theatre. Repertoire is large and diverse from contemporary dance, documentary theatre on out to hip-hop opera. Skorohod is a recently refurbished (out of an ancient foot-factory) multi-genre arts space. The venue has a seating capacity of around 250. The foyer is served by a fully licensed bar and buffet, where you can relax and enjoy a pre-show drink and live music.
The ZIL Culture Centre (www.zilcc.ru) is the first and largest palace of culture in Moscow. ZIL has the unique history with the original platforms, circles and studios. The Chekhov International Theatre Festival was established by the International Confederation of Theatre Associations. Main idea is continually widening the audience, making theatre be longed for by the people of different background.
Since 2007 Dialogue Dance Company (founded by Ivan Estegneev and Evgeny Kulagin in 2002 in Kostroma) organises and holds the International Festival of Contemporary Dance Duets “Diversia”. Festival is well known both in Russia and Europe.
International Festival DanceInversion, acclaimed as Russia’s leading contemporary dance event, is coming back to Moscow this autumn. The festival has been presenting latest creations of the greatest Western choreographers and aspiring works of rising Asian, African and Latin American companies for two decades now.

The international festival Context Diana Vishneva provides access to the best practices of contemporary dance. The Golden Mask Award is the most prestigious award that is given to productions in all genres of theatre art: drama, opera, ballet, modern dance, operetta, musical, and puppet theatre. The Golden Mask National Theatre Award and Festival is supported by the Theatre Union of Russian Federation, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Moscow Government.
The BODYWORD is a festival that integrates such different fields of art as literature and dance. Includes modern dance, contemporary dance, physical theatre, movement theatre and improvisation.

Festival takes place annually, focusing on international programme every second year. The region is known for its established contemporary dance companies among which are Tatyana Baganova’s company Provincial Dances and Olga Pona’s Chelyabinsk Theatre of Contemporary Dance.
OPEN LOOK festival is an international event offering training and performance programs that cover a wide range of contemporary dance forms. Held each summer during the St.-Petersburg White Nights season, the festival gathers Russian dancers, choreographers and students for a series of intensive workshops held by well-known dance masters from all over the world.
RUSSIAN LOOK National Dance & Theatre platform is a part of the XVII International Summer Festival OPEN LOOK. Contemporary dance, visual and physical theatre, multi-media, new circus, site-specific and experimental projects from different regions of Russia.
Dance Company Vozdukh (meaning “Air”) is starting a new contemporary dance festival. It will be the first one in the South of Russia. Happening between 7th – 10th of January 2016 it will consist of performances and workshops both by Russian and foreign companies. The festival will take place at the theatre platform One Theatre and company’s own dance studio Vozdukh.
International Summer Festival of Arts ”The Access Point” is the largest platform for site-specific and immersive art in Russia. Residents and guests of the The Access Point Festival — Russian and international directors — present progressive, bold and pertinent productions.
Summer residence takes place on STANTSIA art venue and gives artists an opportunity to create a performance within 2 weeks and then present it at the end of residence. STANTSIA art venue was founded in 2009 in a former factory building of Kostroma’s industrial district. Professional dancers, performers and actors (no students please) are invited to take part in the competition. Not more than 4 artists or one company can participate in one period of residence. Artists are provided with accommodation, stage space for work, technical support. Artists have to cover international travel.
